This SPEZIAL release was inspired by a vintage runner that @gary.aspden swapped from a collector for his personal archive. One of the key features of the shoe is the subtle ledge at the heel. Back when adidas was made by licensees they would often only make tooling moulds in full sizes and would ‘group’ a number of different upper sizes onto them. The slight difference in size between the upper and midsole would create this ledge effect which has been re-created for this runner. Two colourways will drop March 9 - a light grey/navy/red that keeps with the OG inspiration, and a second colourway in pistachio/pink/grey that gives a nod to the late 80s ZX colour palette.
